The Jewish Federation of Rockland is the central planning, coordinating and fundraising body for local and international agencies that offer the entire community a broad range of humanitarian programs. The annual fundraising campaign supports these programs and is the largest single year-round fundraising endeavor in the Jewish community.
WHAT WE DO
We support a variety of programs for people in need on a nonsectarian basis, in Rockland County and in over 60 countries around the world and in Israel. Our programs offer care for the elderly; programs for toddlers; relief to those with terminally ill family members; counseling for battered women; free job training for new immigrants; rescue for families in the Former Soviet Union, Argentina and resettlement services for people in Israel; and scholarships and Israel Experience programs for students.
HOW WE DO IT
Supplementing The Jewish Federation's professional and support staff is a dedicated group of volunteers. These people provide financial support and donate their time, energy and expertise to help raise funds and/or serve on boards and committees that oversee the allocation of Federation monies.
Many also volunteer their time to work at our affiliated social service agencies and at the Federation's headquarters in New City.
