Beth Am Temple is honoring Rabbi Daniel Pernick‘s 40 years of spiritual leadership with a celebratory event on Sunday, November 2 at 12 pm. Rabbi Pernick joined Beth Am in July of 1985 and has guided the reform congregation of Rockland County, NY and Bergen County, NJ residents for more than four decades.

The festivities will begin with a kosher brunch buffet and include numerous speakers, proclamation presentations, a slide show and trivia contest. Rabbi Pernick will reflect on the changes he has seen over the years and how through its members, Beth Am has lived up to its name which translates to “House of the People.” Throughout his tenure, Rabbi Pernick has actively promoted dialogue and understanding among all faiths, and organized and encouraged interfaith activities and programs across Rockland and the surrounding area.

Clergy and elected officials from all levels of government are expected to join temple and community members at the afternoon program. Attendees will receive a commemorative journal.

The public is invited to attend. Admission costs $50 per person and advance reservations are required by the Sunday, October 12th deadline. Reservations and payment can be made online under the Donate tab at https://www.bethamtemple.org or by mail at Beth Am Temple, 60 E. Madison Ave, Pearl River, NY 10965.
