On Saturday, November 8th after morning services, CSI, Nyack will be commemorating Kristallnacht with a lunch and learn during our kiddush. We are pleased to have Eugene Ginter (a holocaust survivor) as our guest speaker.

Eugene was born in Krakow, Poland in Feb 1939. He was in the Plaszow Ghetto, Plaszow Concentration Camp, Gross-Rosen, Brunnitza(Brunnitz), Birkenau and Auschwitz. On January 27th, 12 days before his 6th birthday, he was liberated in Auschwitz by the Soviet Army. Eugene was sent to a hospital in Krakow , then into a Jewish orphanage where his mother(a Schindler's List survivor) found him. They travelled to Czechoslovakia, then to Lintz, Austria and found his father (a survivor or Mauthausen and Auschwitz). After the war they lived in Schweinfurt, Germany util 1950, when the family emigrated to the USA.

Eugene is a Mechanical Engineer and after retiring he taught Physics at Pelham H.S. He is married to Rachelle, his wife of 55 years. They have a daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren.
