This film looks at the relationship between African Americans and Jews during the height of the Jazz Age. It tells the story of the early jazz classic, Body and Soul, written by Jewish composer Johnny Green in 1929 and popularized by both Jewish and African American performers, including an historic Benny Goodman Trio recording that broke the color barrier by including a black pianist in the ensemble.
