This November marked the fifth Yahrzeit of Leonard Cohen. The world yet sings his "Hallelujah" and surely always will. But many do not realize how skillfully he wove threads of Biblical teachings and Kabbalah into the memorable lyrics of his iconic songs and poems.
In our special time together, we will take a look at an early song of protest from the 60's, a bracing poem from the 80's, and an oft-quoted section of an anthem from the 90's, and mine the Judaic scholarship peeking just below the surface of the words.
