The United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien Connecticut, has just announced the application window for the second year of the Lilly Reiser Scholarship. The scholarship will provide ten spots for Jewish college students in New York or Connecticut, who will be attending an accredited US-based college or graduate school during the 2025-2026 academic year. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and merit.
Lilly Reiser was a Holocaust survivor who emigrated to the United States in 1945 and was only able to obtain her educational degrees because of the generosity of various Jewish communal organizations and their scholarship programs. Ever thankful for the financial support she received, Lilly wanted to pay it forward. The winning applicants will demonstrate the ability to live up to Lilly’s example as someone who overcame significant hardship to obtain her degree and become a productive citizen.
The scholarship application window for the 2025-2026 academic year will open from January 27 through March 24, 2025. To apply, please visit www.ujf.org/LillyReiser on or after January 27th. For more information or questions, please contact Eric@ujf.org.
