STATEMENT ON FEDERATION FACEBOOK PAGE, SEPTEMBER 25, 2019

Jewish Federation is now under attack by an elected representative of the town of Clarkstown. It's no secret that Councilman Peter Bradley has his differences with Federation. He has been attacking Federation, the Federation's Community Relations Council and its former chair, Steve Gold, for months. His complaint? That Federation won't join him in attacks on other Jewish groups. Federation has just ignored his provocations for months. But now he has launched an attack on Federation. Here are his exact words from his Facebook page.

I will close out by once again reminding my THOUSANDS of readers that the ‘Jewish Federation and Foundation of Rockland’ is completely complicit in this moral crisis with their continued stoic silence. I have no idea why anybody would donate money to an organization that turns a blind eye to the crippling of American children? I know that I NEVER WILL!

Jewish Federation is a charity. Can you imagine if an elected official had written similarly about another charity like The United Way? Catholic Charities? The Red Cross or Boy Scouts? Jewish Federation is focused on building a stronger more vibrant Jewish Community in Rockland, in Israel, and wherever Jews may be in need. Today we are asking you to respond to Mr. Bradley's completely specious attack. Tell him you reject his distortions and slander. Fight hate with an act which helps build a stronger community. Please make a gift in any amount to Jewish Federation this week and before the start of the New Year.

And if you live in Clarkstown, please call the members of the town council and ask them to support a resolution of censure. Your voice must be heard!
