Happy 2015 everyone! I can’t believe that a new year is here already, and I have only six more months before my time here with you all will end.
This past year and a half was amazing. All the Hebrew schools, the special events, the lectures and programs… on one side, it feels like it’s been only a month, and on the other, I feel like I did enough for five years of work! And I love it!
You are all probably wondering what’s ahead for me, and more important, for us? So I’ll share with you some of the AWESOME events planned. These coming months are filled with action!
First, I will continue teaching my Midreshet class for a second semester, talking about news and current events in Israel and the Jewish world. The new semester starts the last week of January, and I am so excited about it! Click the links to learn more about Melton and Midreshet classes.
I will also have my free monthly “Israel through film” club at the JCC on January 15th and February 19th starting at 1:00 PM and finishing after a film and a short discussion. For this coming event I will be showing Footnote; for more about the movie click here.
As part as my adult programs I will be having lunch and learns in many synagogues as well as some special lecture nights with topics that speak to all. Below are two lectures that will be happening soon. These are open to all, with reservations but hurry, seats are limited!
January 26th, 7:00 PM: A night at Montebello Jewish Center: Elections are Coming! During our time together, I will show the political map in Israel, the minute before elections. Who is running? What are their views? And what are the polls saying? A short Q&A will follow.
February 19th, 7:00 PM: A night at CSI Nyack: Positive Israel! As the term HASBARAH (Israel advocacy) becomes archaic and irrelevant, there is an urgent need to "Talk Israel" in a different manner. What is that manner? We will review that oh-so-important question together.
If you want to join me at one of these lectures, please call me at: 845-362-4200 ext. 115.
So, as a big chapter in the book of my Shlichut has come to an end, there is a big chunk of it ahead. I hope to see you at one (or all) of these wonderful programs. If you have any questions, feel free call or email.
Happy 2015 guys, a year of health, success and of course… AWESOMENESS!
