The Sol and Bea Kramer Senior Center in Kiriyat Ata, Israel serves over one hundred local elderly residents and has been supported by generous Rockland Federation donors for a number of years.
In a recent report, Center Director Alina Cohen writes, “With the help of our friends in Rockland County we are able to continue to upgrade the physical part of the center. In the last three years we built a new physical therapy room, a beauty parlor and made a number of other improvements.”
In 2015, a supplemental gift from the Kramer family in memory of Sol Kramer helped the center purchase modern sound and video equipment, and reupholster the furniture. This year, Rockland residents Estelle and Allan Eisenkraft visited the center and made a generous donation to fund a new exterior electric gate with an intercom in the office.

Cohen is extremely pleased to be able to install the new security gate. “We have a growing number of elderly with Alzheimer’s, and in view of the security situation in Israel, we really needed a new gate to ensure everyone's safety,” says Cohen.
The Kramer Senior Center offers a range of programs and services that offer support, socialization and hot meals to the elderly in Kiriyat Ata. New programs added this year include art and music therapy, ceramic classes, and movie screening/discussion events.
Cohen hopes that the next improvement project can be made in the yard for the Alzheimer’s Ward. “We need a new pergola and garden benches that will enable us to sit outside, even during the summer,” says Cohen.
Federation donors who wish to make a supplemental gift to support the Kramer Senior Center may contact Gary Siepser, CEO at 845-362-4200, ext. 133.
