Opportunities to Learn and Grow with Federation

The Jewish Federation of Rockland County offers a number of Jewish learning and engagement opportunities that will inform and inspire adults from all backgrounds. Programs are held in the Rockland Jewish Community Campus; upcoming opportunities are listed below and registration is open now!

The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning is the largest pluralistic adult Jewish education network in the world. Rockland Federation offers the Melton Core Curriculum which is a comprehensive series of text-based lessons, studied over two years. Midreshet Rockland courses begin October 7 and 8 and are held weekly for 12 or 15 weeks. Taught by popular local educators, classes include “Israel Through Street Signs” with Rabbi Daniel Pernick, “Incantations, Amulets and Magic” with Sharon Halper and more. The Global Day of Jewish Learning brings Jewish people together once a year to celebrate our shared Jewish texts through community-based learning. This year, Global Day will take place on November 15 and the theme is “Love: Devotion, Desire and Deception.” $15 includes two classes and brunch. Learn more/Register

Leadership Development Institute (LDI) is designed to identify and develop the skills and commitment of up-and-coming Jewish communal volunteers. The goal of LDI is to strengthen Rockland’s Jewish leadership base, resulting in a more active and vibrant community.
