Celebration and Commemoration

This Passover has been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for many of us - the happiness of celebrating with family tempered by the knowledge that a loving family in Israel has been torn from its foundations in a terror attack.

The next few weeks are another journey - from sorrow to hope, from mourning to celebration, from looking back to looking forward. Next week we observe Yom Hashoah, even as fewer and fewer survivors remain with us. Following that, we observe Yom Hazikaron for Israel’s fallen soldiers before we celebrate Israel’s independence the following day. Here in Rockland, We will be coming together to celebrate Israel on April 30th, 11-3 at the Rockland Jewish Community Campus (450 West Nyack Road). The event is brought to you by the Jewish Federation and Foundation of Rockland County and JCC Rockland,  along with 21 organizational partners from across the county. Thanks as well to our generous sponsors. We’ll be featuring the Maccabeats, with food, activities, a shuk, art projects, and much more! Register for FREE. We’ll be asking for a small donation to Leket Israel’s work fighting food insecurity from arrivals who are not registered - so don’t delay, register now!

All of us at Federation are looking forward to celebrating with you on April 30th.
